I. Educational Qualification

Higher National Diploma of Computer Science from a government institution or equivalent, acceptable to the PGIM

II. Other qualification

  1. Minimum of one year experience
  2. Versatile knowledge on hardware and other software applications
  3. Microsoft office application
  4. Adobe Photoshop
  5. Adobe illustrator
  6. Multimedia editing tools
  7. Troubleshooting computers
  8. Installing hardware devices
  9. Use of digital equipment such as digital cameras and video recorders

Job description for a Moodle Technical Assistant

  •  Assist end users, such as staff and trainees, on Moodle Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) related functional questions
  • Resolve any access problems for users of the VLE and be responsible for the 24/7 online help desk
  • Contribute to internal documentation, forums and other training materials as required including designing of graphics and video content
  • Implement and monitor access control for users including grouping
  • Be involved in setting up of assignments and other teaching learning activities
  • Add and modify content to the VLE as required
  • Add new courses as required and maintain the relevant menu structure to the required layout
  • Assist with the update of content as required
  • Assist with any maintenance required including testing upgrades
  • Undertake rigorous testing on a variety of client devices to ensure the VLE maintains the required look, feel and functionality on any device
  • Maintain up to date backups of the VLE and liaise with the network manager of the PGIM in ensuring 100% up time of the VLE server
  • Assist and contribute in Moodle training programs conducted by the PGIM.
  • Any other duties assigned in terms of the VLE by the PGIM.
