The second oration was held in October 2008 along with the Titular Awards Ceremony for years 2007 & 2008. The Orator was Dr Prasad Katulanda, Lecturer at the Department Clinical Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo and a Clinical Research Fellow/DPhil student at the Oxford Centre for Diabetes Endocrinology and Metabolism in UK.
