The PGIM in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA) conducted a trainer-training programme on teaching communication skills on 23rd and 24th July 2018 at the PGIM. Several master trainers led by Professor R. M Mudiyanse facilitated the workshop, which was attended by more than 50 trainers from different Boards of Study. The workshop was also attended by many non-medical personnel trained as simulated patients. Video feedback was used as a means of facilitating learning and the workshop was conducted as an interactive session with integrated role-plays. The workshop was the start of a series of workshops aimed at improving communication skills teaching and the use of simulated patients in postgraduate medical education in Sri Lanka.
